Over eighty members of Hertfordshire Natural History Society and friends gathered for our Autumn Meeting and AGM on Saturday 19th October 2013 at Woolmer Green Hall. 

?Presentation of the HNHS 1875 Awards for 2013 were made to Michael Clark - an outstanding Hertfordshire Naturalist, and ?John Catt - for an outstanding contribution to natural history in Hertfordshire in his book Hertfordshire Geology and Landscape.

HNHS Annual General Meeting: the Society's AGM was held just after the tea break from 4.00 - 4.15, before the final talk.?


Ronni Edmonds-Brown (left) introduced the programme for the afternoon. 

Susannah O?Riordan (right) from Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust gave an inspiring talk about her project 'Woodlands for People and Wildlife' aiming to restore woodlands in South Herts and get local communities involved.


Farming with Wildlife in Mind: Edward Darling (left) blew us away with his 'tour de force' on how he has transformed Greys Farm at Therfield to increase its value for wildlife. He has separated the commercial agriculture from large blocks, up to 10Ha, managed intensively for wildlife.

David Curry (right) rounded off the afternoon with a celebration of 'The Living Churchyard: Managing God's Acre' and the opportunities for promoting wildlife in these unique spaces.
